Legendary Swedish hardcore band Refused are in the midst of their farewell North American tour, which made a stop at the Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, New York, on Friday (March 21st).
Refused announced in September that they would break up following a farewell tour, including the current North American spring leg. The news came a few months after frontman Dennis Lyxzén suffered a massive heart attack.
The Brooklyn show marked the second gig of the outing, which kicked off a night earlier in Washington, D.C.
In addition to saying goodbye to fans, Refused are also celebrating their seminal album The Shape of Punk to Come. At the Brooklyn show, the band played 10 tunes from the 1998 LP as part of its 19-song setlist.
Support came from Quicksand and Orange 9mm at the Brooklyn show. Quicksand will be on board for the remainder of the tour, which runs through April 10th in Sacramento, while the opening act will rotate in each city.
