Irish Independent Albums chart topper Sorcha Richardson returns with "Grenadine" single

The track was written in West Kerry and recorded in Belfast with producer Chris Ryan (Chalk, Just Mustard, New Dad). Richardson says it deals with slow-burning realisations that things are not always as they appear. “‘Grenadine’ is kind of a crisis of faith… in myself, in relationships, in what I thought to be true about life,” she explains. “Sometimes life’s most devastating moments occur so quietly as to trick you into thinking nothing’s changed at all.”

Richardson debuted some of her new material last month at St James Church in Dingle as part of Other Voices. "Grenadine" is the first official single from what is understood to be a forthcoming collection of songs planned for 2026.

The Dublin-born artist has released two LPs to date. Her debut, First Prize Bravery, earned a Choice Music Prize nomination. Its follow-up, Smiling Like An Idiot, reached number four on the Official Irish Album Charts and topped the Irish Independent Albums Chart. Richardson has amassed more than 80 million streams and has toured with Mitski, Villagers, and Snow Patrol, as well as playing a headline show at London’s Barbican.
