Iron Maiden drummer Nicko McBrain has announced his memoir, Hello Boys and Girls!, due out October 22nd via Harper NonFiction.
The book is set to cover McBrain’s life not just in Iron Maiden but his early career as well, including his time with groups like Streetwalkers, Pat Travers Band, and Trust, in addition to the period of his time as a studio musician.
McBrain is best known for his time in Iron Maiden, whom he joined in 1982. He’s recorded 14 studio albums with Maiden, and still remains an official member of the band despite stepping away from touring at the end of 2024. However, he recently announced a series of shows with his Iron Maiden tribute band Titanium Tart.
The drummer stated of the book, “I’m very excited and honored to be working with the wonderful Harper NonFiction Team on my very own book full of lots of fun stories, anecdotes and of course my incredible experiences with some of the greatest musicians and performers from the 70s, 80s and beyond! I am blessed to be able to finally share my path to where I am today, in my own words, with the world.”
Iron Maiden, meanwhile, will launch the North American leg of their “Run for Your Lives tour” celebrating their iconic first nine albums in late August, with support from Megadeth and Anthrax (tickets available here). The band was recently announced as a 2026 inductee to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, , although they will have to miss the ceremony in November due to prior touring commitments in Australia.
Additionally, a new documentary on Iron Maiden titled Burning Ambition recently hit movie theaters.
