The Boys Jack Quaid has revealed his dream role would be starring in an adaptation of a classic video game franchise.

Taking part in a Reddit Ask Me Anything thread to promote new movie Novacaine, Quaid was asked “what’s your absolute dream role?”

“I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of Bioshock,” he replied. “It’s one of my favourite games of all time.”

BioShock is a first-person shooter that was released back in 2007. Set in a technologically-advanced underwater city, players take control of newcomer Jack as he fights his way through the madness and violence of the isolated world. Two sequels followed – 2010’s BioShock 2 and 2013’s BioShock Infinite – and a fourth game is currently in development.

“I think there’s such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation,” continued Quaid. “I’ve also seen people say that I look like Max Payne and when I’ve looked at the box art, I even did a double-take. I love Rockstar’s games, but unfortunately I’ve never played that one – it’s next on the list, for sure.”

Elsewhere during the AMA, Quaid revealed that he’s obsessed with the games of FromSoftware but does occasionally need a little help. “I’m a huge video game nerd,” he replied to a question about his hobbies.

“Lately I’ve been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat Bloodborne, then I beat Sekiro and now I’m going full boar into Elden Ring. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft’s bosses. I love how challenging the games are – it took me a while to get into them, but now I’m obsessed.”

This year will see the release of the fifth and final season of The Boys. Speaking to NME recently about saying goodbye to Hughie, Quiad said: “It’s really bittersweet. I love that character so much. We’ve just started shooting and my god, Toronto is so cold. This season, Hughie is the most mature we’ve ever seen him. Obviously he’s been through a lot over the course of the show and it’s made him into someone who really has their head on their shoulders. That’s been really, really interesting to play considering where we first met him. It’s been wonderful.”

In other news, gamers have taken to Reddit to share their controversial gaming opinions and it seems almost everyone hates crafting.
