Jeremy Allen White‘s performances in the upcoming Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me From Nowhere are so convincing that some fans are suggesting they’re fake.
Directed by Scott Cooper, Deliver Me From Nowhere chronicles the New Jersey legend’s journey to recording his sixth album, ‘Nebraska’, in 1982.
Yesterday (June 18), the film’s trailer was shared, revealing a short clip of White singing The Boss’s hit ‘Born To Run’. Since then, fans have been in disbelief at the actor’s singing ability.
“Can’t believe this is Jeremy Allen White’s voice,” one wrote on Twitter/X, to which another replied: “I don’t think it is.” “my brain can’t compute,” wrote another.
It turns out it’s not only fans struggling to tell the difference. Marc Maron – who plays record producer Chuck Plotkin in the film – recently revealed that Springsteen himself had trouble differentiating between his voice and White’s.
Speaking in a recent interview with Collider, Maron said: “There were times where Bruce Springsteen didn’t know whether what he was listening to was himself or Jeremy.”

Succession star Jeremy Strong plays Jon Landau, Springsteen’s manager and record producer; while Adolescence actor Stephen Graham portrays his father, Douglas Springsteen.
The film is scheduled for release on October 24, and you can watch the first trailer below.
The Boss has given his approval for the film, visiting the cast during filming and giving enthusiastic praise for those involved. Speaking to Variety’s Awards Circuit Podcast, he discussed how the project came about. “They pitched the idea, and I said, ‘It sounds like fun,’” Springsteen recalled. “It’s an interesting concept, because it’s only a couple of years out of my life”.
He continued: “It’s ’81, ’82, and centred around the creation of that particular record while I was simultaneously recording ‘Born in the USA’ and also going through some personal difficulties that I’ve been living with my whole life. But it’s fantastic.”
The feeling was mutual for the cast, with Strong describing it as “one of the greatest working experiences I’ve ever had”. Graham also spoke positively about the project, revealing he was left in tears after receiving praise from Bruce Springsteen, describing his messages as: “The most gorgeous texts I’ve ever had in my life.”
While this is the first time the public will see footage from the film, a specially cut trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere was presented at CinemaCon in April, which featured White singing the Springsteen classic ‘Born To Run’.
