We caught up with unstoppable producer Jiqui to chat about his massive year, his personal mission to resurrect bouncy dubstep, and his next projects.
Jordan Komarniski — better known to the bass world as Jiqui — is rewriting the dubstep blueprint by injecting a fresh perspective into familiar sounds. His ascent to the genre’s biggest stages is the direct result of a relentless, grounded hustle and continuous creative evolution.
With an unmatched stage presence and off-the-charts live sets, it’s no surprise Jiqui is dominating the scene. A true powerhouse behind the decks, he crafts the dark and bouncy music he loves while keeping the energy feeling brand new.
He leans hard into heavy bass without ever losing his signature sense of fun, proving that you can drop banging beats without an oversized ego. This unique formula has earned him a discography on elite labels such as Monstercat, Disciple, Gud Vibrations, and Jadū Dala. It’s also landed him unforgettable collaborations with bass music’s finest, including Phrva, DENNETT, Kayzo, Cozy Kev, and Must Die! The industry support is hard to deny as well. You know he is doing something right when titans like Flava D, John Summit, Levity, GRiZ, and Crankdat are rinsing his tunes in their sets.
Fresh off his explosive Lightning in a Bottle debut, we caught up with the unstoppable Jiqui to chat about his massive year, his personal mission to resurrect bouncy dubstep, and the next projects he is dropping.
And in case you missed him dropping absolute fire and vibing with the crowd at LIB, don’t worry. He recorded his entire set, and we’ve included it here so you can catch his exact vibe.

2026 is turning out to be a big year for you, between playing LiB, appearing on UKF Dubstep with Phrva, Denqui on the Rocks, and playing Red Rocks in the Fall with Tape B. How does it feel for it to be happening all at once?
It definitely feels really good to be crossing off a lot of goals this year. A lot of things have been falling into place, and I’m very stoked about the way things are unfolding.
What was it like having Levity and John Summit drop your “Levels” remix on the mountain back in March?
That was a really cool moment for sure. Levity has been super supportive of my music after switching up directions. Seeing people play or support my music is just something that always makes me really happy.
Photo Credit: @still.squillYou’ve said it’s your mission to bring back fun, bouncy dubstep in 2026. What does that mean to you? Do you feel that the genre is getting too serious?
I love making and listening to bouncy, fun dubstep, and for me personally, it’s just what gets me so excited. I love being able to move along with a track when you can hear the care the artist has put into the swing and the pockets to create that groove. It goes even beyond dubstep for me. I just love songs that have an addictive bounce or groove. I don’t feel like the genre is getting too serious. I think no matter what’s going on with the current state of the scene, there will always be differing opinions on this, and I’m just here to make music that I enjoy.
You’ve talked about creating music you like, and you’ve even gone so far as to say that dubstep artists create good house music. Will we see you create an EP or LP in another genre?
I don’t know about a whole EP of another genre. I can definitely say there are plans to release a bigger multi-genre project. I have so many sketches and songs that aren’t dubstep, and that I actually really do enjoy. Finding a way to put them out under Jiqui as a single project would probably be difficult, but mixing different genres tastefully while still representing my sound is a must.
You’ve collabbed with some big names and released on some reputable labels. Who are your dream collaborators and labels you hope to work with one day?
I’d love to do a release with UKF or Vision someday. As for collabs, there’s a huge list of artists I’d love to work with, but if I could name just one, it would be Mefjus. His Manifest LP changed everything for me.

Definitely! It’s going well; it’s hard to stay on track sometimes on the road, but it’s something I’ve been used to for a while now. Obviously, trying different foods in new places is so much fun and one of my favorite parts of traveling, but I try to make it semi-healthy when I can.
Is there anything special you have coming up that you can let us know about?
Yeah, of course! There are some really sick shows coming up that I couldn’t be more stoked to be a part of. Opening for Tape B at Red Rocks, going b2b with Cozy Kev in Vegas, and some tour support stops are being announced soon. On the music side, we’ve got so much coming out this year that I’m really excited about. You can get a taste of in this live set being released.
