Josephine Illingworth releases new song in partnership with Brian Eno's EarthPercent foundation

The song is paired with a video shot in the hills of Shropshire last winter and follows up Illingworth's seven-song EP, Bright Things I Found In The Dark, released earlier this year. 50% of royalties from the new single will go towards supporting nature conservation programmes across the world. Announcing the release of the song via her newsletter, Illingworth recalled how its inspiration stemmed from time spent travelling in the Himalayas. "We met and stayed with families who changed the way I think about landscape and community, and who made me see the landscape as fundamentally alive," she wrote. The song interpolates a recording of the women and "is about those experiences, of finding real sanctuary in wild places, of finding a home there." The post went on: "It is also an angry song, a lament, in a way, for the places that have been lost this summer in the wildfires, and more widely the places that have been lost systematically over many years."
