Josh Freese Confirms He Will Reunite with Weezer for South American Tour

Josh Freese is making use of his downtime until Nine Inch Nails’ next tour by reuniting with his old pals, Weezer, on their upcoming South American dates.

“Getting ready to head down to South America with some old friends,” Freese wrote in the caption of an Instagram post with a photo of a drum kit with Weezer’s logo. In case that wasn’t clear enough, Freese wrote in his Instagram Stories that he was “looking forward to South America with Weezer coming up.”

Josh’s brother, Jason Freese, previously teased that Josh would step in so that founding Weezer stickman Patrick Wilson could return to guitar. Freese was previously a touring drummer for Weezer from 2007 to 2012.

Weezer’s handful of South American shows begins on November 2nd in São Paulo and also includes dates in Buenos Aires and Santiago. After that, Rivers Cuomo and co. will play a series of festival dates in Mexico and Australia. See the dates below, and get tickets here.

Meanwhile, Freese will head back on the road with Nine Inch Nails for their early 2026 North American tour beginning in February. Find the schedule below, and grab your seats here.

It’s certainly been a tumultuous year for Freese, who was fired from Foo Fighters in May before returning to Nine Inch Nails for the latter group’s recent tour. Check out our review of NIN’s September Brooklyn show.
