KJ Apa Reveals Why He Didn’t Shave for His Shower Scene in ‘The Map That Leads to You’

In a new interview on Radio Andy’s “Andy Cohen Live,” special guest KJ Apa opened up about his nude shower scene in the new film “The Map That Leads to You.”

“KJ, of course, will not say it, but I’m going to say something that may sell the movie to a lot of you who are wondering whether to go see it,” Andy said. “You can very clearly see KJ’s ass in the movie.”

“You can,” KJ confirmed. “It’s hairy, too … I didn’t know that day that I was going to be showing my ass. Had I known, maybe I would’ve shaved it.”

“The Map That Leads to You” — an adaptation of JP Monninger’s novel — follows Heather (Madelyn Cline), a young woman traveling Europe with friends before starting her perfectly planned life. A chance meeting with Jack (KJ) sparks an unexpected romance that leads to deep emotional discovery. As secrets and life choices test their bond, her path changes forever.

“They didn’t say, ‘Hey, by the way, tomorrow’s your ass shot. You want to be doing your squats’?” Andy asked.

“No, because originally [Madelyn] was meant to be naked in the shower, and then something happened that day, and then I said I’ll do it,” KJ explained.

“The Map That Leads to You” is available August 20 on Prime Video.
