Kristi Noem was among those most savagely mocked on this week’s episode of South Park, with creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone portraying the Secretary of Homeland Security as a ruthless dog assassin whose face was quite literally falling off from excessive Botox.
Noem responded to her South Park depiction during an appearance on conservative commentator Glenn Beck’s program on Thursday. “It’s so lazy to just constantly make fun of women for how they look. It’s only the liberals and the extremists who do that,” she said. “If they wanted to criticize my job, go ahead and do that, but clearly they can’t.”
It goes without saying, of course, that Noem’s boss, Donald Trump, has mocked the appearance of countless women over the years. It’s also worth pointing out that the South Park episode didn’t only take aim at Noem’s appearance — it also mocked ICE, the agency she currently oversees as part of her job as head of the Department of Homeland Security.
Noem wasn’t the only member of the Trump administration to respond to last night’s South Park episode; Vice President J.D. Vance at least attempted to pretend he was in on the joke. “Well, I’ve finally made it,” he wrote in response to a photo shared by South Park’s official X account. In the episode, Vance was portrayed as a miniature servant to Trump, inspired by Tattoo from the TV series Fantasy Island. At one point, he offers to “apply the baby oil to Satan’s asshole” on Trump’s behalf.
