Lakeith Stanfield Reveals New Horror Film Role At NYCC

Actor Lakeith Stanfield shared that he will be in a new Blumhouse horror film while appearing at New York Comic-Con over the weekend. Source: Slaven Vlasic / GettyLast Friday (October 9), actor Lakeith Stanfield appeared at New York Comic-Con’s second day for a special reason – to share the news of his latest film that he’s starring in, the horror picture Molepeople. The audience cheered when the Atlanta star was announced as the star of the latest horror movie from Blumhouse and Paramount Primal, and he joined director Rob Savage on stage to discuss his role. The film will premiere in theatres on August 27, 2027. Molepeople also stars Emmy Award winning actor Ben Mendelson (Rogue One). The story follows a man who climbs down into the tunnels underneath New York City, and discovers a twisted society living there. Filming is set to begin in the United Kingdom late November or early December.Savage described the movie as being “in the vein of Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Hills Have Eyes.” When asked about his feelings towards the role, Stanfield replied, “I’m excited to make things that can thrill people, get you to feel things.” The executive producers include Ryan Turek, Tracy R...
