Låpsley has released her new single ‘Hurricane’ taken from her upcoming album ‘I’m A Hurricane I’m A Woman In Love’. Check it out below.
Her fourth album, due for release on May 2 via her own label Her Own Recordings, will mark her first as an independent artist. You can pre-order it here.
Over a simple, dreamy guitar, the track sees Låpsley explore the beauty of unconditional love, as she sings: “All I want is butterflies to fly through my chest, stand by me the renegade and I’ll move every ocean and the rest”.
The song comes alongside a Jeanne Buchi-directed video, which sees the singer arriving on a horse and surrounded by 40 nude men.
Speaking on Låpsley explained: “’Hurricane’ is an unapologetic expression of the love from a woman. An omnipotent, unbridled love. A love that’s feared and revered. Pierce your flag into the ground to affirm. Love to return. Love for the sake of free will. Love in protest. Love in chaos. Love in peace. A wild, misunderstood magic.”

‘I’m A Hurricane I’m A Woman In Love’ follows her 2024 EP ‘A Guilty Heart Can Never Rest’, which she recently revealed came after she was dropped from her label. “Contractually, I was meant to go straight into another album cycle after ‘Cautionary Tales Of Youth‘, but it didn’t sit right. I stuck to my guns and made a 5 track EP. It cost me my record deal but creatively was the best decision I’ve ever made,” she said.
Alongside the album announcement, Låpsley has shared details of an upcoming UK tour in October, with tickets going on sale on Friday (March 21).
She’ll kick things off in Leeds on October 22 before heading to Newcastle, Glasgow, Manchester and Bristol. The tour will then wrap up with a show at London’s Islington Assembly Hall on October 30. Find a full list of dates below, and get tickets here.
