Influencer and boxer Logan Paul is a well known Pokémon fanboy. In 2022, he broke the Guinness World Record for most expensive Pokémon card when he spent $5.28million on a rare Pikachu Illustrator card and now he’s taken to social media to pitch The Pokémon Company a new game, Pokémon Pink.
He explained that many adults love the OG ‘mon but “don’t have as much of a connection” with newer generations. “SO, I think The Pokémon Company should create a remastered game inspired by the OGs that mirrors the original pixel graphics, combines the best generations of Pokémon, and introduces adaptive NPCs that evolve alongside the player.
“I think there is a MASSIVE opportunity to capitalise on the decades of nostalgic equity that fans have with the franchise,” he continued. “The same frenzy that originally propelled Pokémon into mainstream culture lives within millions of adults that yearn for the feeling the original games provided. As technology continues to advance at an alarmingly rapid pace, I personally believe the future will lean towards ‘retro’.”

However fans have pointed out that he’s basically pitching the idea of a Pokémon Red & Blue remake. “All those words to say absolutely nothing of note,” wrote one X user. “Bro just recited what every nostalgia fanboy already been saying for years but ran it through an AI prompt. Nostalgia equity is the fakest most soulless shit I ever heard in my life,” added another. “What a novel idea. They could even call it Pokémon FireRed Version,” said a third.
The original Pokémon games were released in 1996 and remain one of the biggest-selling video games of all time. As it stands, there’s currently no way to play the original titles on modern Nintendo consoles but fans are hoping that’ll change later this year as part of the 30th anniversary celebrations.
So far, two new Pokémon games have been announced for 2026. Cosy life-sim Pokopia is set to launch in March before fighting title Champions. The tenth generation of mainline titles is also rumoured to launch towards the end of the year but so far, nothing official has been confirmed. A collaboration with Lego has also been announced for this year as well as a London pop-up store at the Natural History Museum.
In other news, Fortnite has finally confirmed the much-rumoured crossover with South Park is on the way – and you’ll be able to explore it later this week.
