Lorde is set to kick off her 2025 “Ultrasound” tour on Wednesday, September 17th, marking her first run of shows since releasing her fourth album, Virgin.

After the New Zealand pop star launches the tour on Wednesday at Austin’s Moody Center, she’ll make stops in cities including Chicago, Nashville, Toronto, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Las Vegas, and more throughout September and October. The North American leg is set to conclude with a show in Seattle at the Climate Pledge Arena on October 22nd; afterwards, she’ll head to Europe for another run of shows through December.

The “Ultrasound” tour marks Lorde’s first major headlining run since the conclusion of her “Solar Power Tour” in 2023, and will showcase material from her fourth studio album Virgin, released in June.

“I’ve never felt more intentional with every single piece of what I’m doing,” Lorde recently said about her new work. Speaking about the tour specifically, she wrote to fans: “Every show I play is a collaboration between you and me. We meet in a room and we make music together, our bodies and the machines in search of something bigger together. 12 years of meeting up and making sound that’s just for us. Since last time I’ve been stripping away unnecessary layers, finding us more room to move. I think that Ultrasound could be our masterpiece.”

The tour will feature a rotating cast of special guests, including Virgin collaborators Jim E-Stack and Blood Orange (who is also fresh off the release of his first album in six years, Essex Honey). The Japanese House, Nilüfer Yanya, Chanel Beads, Empress Of, and Oklou will also serve as openers for specific dates throughout the run.

With the tour’s title inspired by Virgin‘s striking X-ray-themed album artwork, “Ultrasound” promises to be Lorde’s most transparent and intimate performance experience yet. The album itself, she explained in recent interviews, left her with “nowhere to hide” as part of a creative process where she was “trying to see myself, all the way through.”

Lorde’s last album was 2021’s Solar Power.
