Blumhouse is inviting fans to a “terrifying” immersive experience in London, where they’ll unleash some of their classic characters from The Black Phone, M3GAN, The Purge and more.
Officially named Blumhouse Blackout, the event will be open to the public on Bateman Street in Soho on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 October, with limited free tickets available.
The two-floored immersive experience will take horror fans deep into the world of some of their most iconic films, utilising multi-sensory technology.
Created by Darkfield, a company specialising in 360 degree audience experiences, Blumhouse Blackout will make use of noise-cancelling headphones, lighting, special effects and interactive performances. The company also utilises realistic sets, binaural sound, sensory effects and shipping containers to place participants in their intense evolving narratives.
Fans will at times be plunged into pitch black darkness as they encounter the likes of the Grabber, M3GAN and blood-thirsty Purgers.
Event organisers have warned that the experience is not for the faint of heart, as it promises to send audience members home with a fear of the dark.
The experience lasts up to 45 minutes, including an intense 15 minute binaural sequence in pitch black darkness.
Tickets are now available through EventBrite. You can purchase them here (subject to availability).
Darkfield has toured globally, reaching over 500,000 audiences across the UK, Asia, Australia and Mexico. The experiences have featured in major film festivals including BFI London Film Festival, Venice, IDFA, Tribeca, Raindance, SXSW and in 2021 won Columbia’s Digital Storytelling Lab’s Breakthrough Award in recognition of the year’s most innovative narrative.
Last month, Blumhouse released the first official teaser trailer for Wolf Man, which is currently scheduled for release in 2025. M3GAN 2.0 and The Black Phone 2 are also included in their slate for next year.
