The tile of the record loosely translates as "dying to return" and was inspired by missing the person was before making his name as Maluma. Among the confirmed tracks is “Botero”, featuring Arcángel and NTG, “Pa la seca” with Ryan Castro, and “Con el corazón”, recorded alongside the recently deceased Yeison Jiménez and a tribute to his legacy and their friendship.
In the video posted to Instagram he tells fans: "You have no idea... the sheer happiness, the excitement I feel right now... to finally be able to share this news with you. I missed Juan Luis; I missed my true essence, that dreamer of a boy, and now, I’m back. I’m doing well now; I feel strong, happy, and excited. This is an album that helped me heal, and without a doubt, it is the most personal project I have ever created. This is a very special moment for me... one that I hope resonates with you all... an album that truly represents my roots and my culture."
The sixth-time Latin Grammy host wrapped his +Pretty +Dirty World Tour last year, selling out venues across Europe and Latin America while his previous LP, Don Juan, earned a Grammy nomination in 2023. Since joining Sony Music Latin in 2015, Maluma has released eight studio albums including Pretty Boy Dirty Boy (2015), F.A.M.E. (2018) and *11:11* (2019).
