Martin Garrix returned to New York City for three spectacular nights at Barclays Center, featuring surprise guest Ed Sheeran and a nod to the Knicks’ win.
Martin Garrix closed out a three-night run in New York as part of his Americas Tour, giving the city another reminder of why his live shows are always uniquely special. Every performance comes with its own surprises, whether through a reworked production cue, unreleased music, guest appearances, or a moment that breaks from the familiar. While the lasers and stage production are consistently exceptional, it’s the unpredictability woven into the experience that keeps the fans locked in.
I have watched Martin Garrix perform more times than I can count. From intimate Vegas club sets to massive festival stages and arena tours, each time, I find myself caught off guard in the best way. Ever since he announced his largest-ever North American tour last year, I had been looking forward to this stop. The decision to expand the run to three nights in the Big Apple due to overwhelming demand came as little surprise.

Knicks excitement in the city helped build anticipation ahead of the second night.
Heading into the night two at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, my anticipation was already sky high. I had spent the day watching clips and highlights from the opening night before. One moment that stood out was Martin taking the stage in a New York Knicks jersey and flashing “Knicks in 5” in support of the team’s ongoing run in the NBA Finals that day.
It was a small gesture, but it clearly resonated with the hometown crowd. Martin Garrix was not just performing in New York; he was tapped into it. He read the city’s mood and gave the local fans a moment that felt special for them. That attention to detail is rare, and it made me even more curious about what he would bring to night two.
I was blown away throughout the show. From the moment Martin stepped on stage, Barclays Center erupted. The night’s highlight arrived quickly when Ed Sheeran made a surprise appearance, an entrance the crowd never saw coming. What followed was a full back-to-back segment, with the pop star remaining on stage for roughly 30 minutes.
Together, they moved through a string of dance-pop mashups, including “Shape Of You,” “Galway Girl,” “Photograph,” “Castle on the Hill,” and “Perfect.” These featured alongside Garrix favorites like “There For You,” “Gravity,” “Butterflies,” and “These Are The Times.” For about half an hour, Barclays Center turned into a collision of EDM and pop at its most euphoric, a full-throttle singalong that had the entire arena locked in as they cheered the duo on stage.

Martin Garrix kept the momentum high after the surprise segment.
After Ed Sheeran left the stage, the Dutch superstar turned up the heat on the rest of his performance. He delivered hit after hit, stacking massive radio singles against his big room house anthems and festival IDs. Songs from his latest ORIGO album — including “Voodoo,” “Inside Our Hearts,” “Set Me Free,” and “Our Time,” — all made their way into the hearts of the crowd who were living in their utmost Friday night high.
I thoroughly enjoyed Martin Garrix’s performance in New York, and there’s a strange comfort in knowing this was only the midpoint of his tour. There are still dates ahead in Chicago, Mexico City, San Jose, Guatemala City, and more before the year comes to a close.
If you’re still weighing whether to catch him on one of those stops, I’d highly recommend it. It is genuinely a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and it somehow keeps getting better each time. I already know I’ll see Martin Garrix again, probably more than once this year. He continues to find new ways to outdo himself, and I plan on being there every step of the way.
