During the rollout to his recent album Experimental Rap, JPEGMAFIA definitely got on some of his rap peers' nerves, but he didn't piss all of them off. Case in point: JPEGMAFIA is the sole producer of O.Y.N, a new album from the great Houston underground mainstay Maxo Kream.
Earlier this year, Maxo Kream released "Fake Jeezy," a JPEGMAFIA-produced collaboration with Denzel Curry. It was great. A few days ago, Maxo also shared "Time Out," a reflective single with lush, funky, '80s-indebted production from JPEGMAFIA. Today, Maxo announces that he's just a week and a half away from releasing O.Y.N, a new album produced entirely by Peggy.
Maxo Kream's last album Personification came out in 2024, and it was great. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more consistent rapper working today, and it'll be cool to hear a full album of what I imagine will be more conventional JPEGMAFIA beats. We didn't get any press clipis about O.Y.N, but the album's tracklist is already visible on streaming services, and it features another appearance from longtime Peggy collaborator Denzel Curry, as well as one from Florida R&B singer-songwriter Isaiah Falls. Below, check out the "Time Out" video and the O.Y.N tracklist.
