According to Forbes, the band’s iconic 1991 single has now spent more time on the tally than all of Metallica’s other charting songs combined, although it’s still not their peak. Both “Master of Puppets” and “Lux Æterna” reached No. 2 in 2022, while “Enter Sandman” stalled at No. 3 in 2021 despite its longevity as a chart mainstay.

Notably, “Enter Sandman” joins Disturbed’s cover of Simon and Garfunkel’s “The Sound of Silence” (329 weeks) and “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC (520 weeks) as the only other 100-plus-week inclusions in the Billboard chart’s history.
