Mexican Coke Kicked Off Tour Headlined by Fentanyl and Featuring Asbestos

One of the great all-name tour bills is no more, as hardcore act Mexican Coke have been kicked off their tour with headliners Fentanyl and fellow support act Asbestos.

The decision to remove from Mexican Coke from the tour apparently stemmed from a show in Salt Lake City on Saturday (October 5th) when the singer for Houston-based band, Carlos, took the stage visibly intoxicated. Things soon got disorderly and violent, resulting in Carlos getting physically removed from the stage by audience members.

Reddit users 1994HondaAccord and mywar69420 — yes, all the names in this article are real — were on hand and shared their reports of the confrontational set on the r/Hardcore subreddit in a post titled, “Vocalist from Mexican Coke got his ass beat in SLC tonight.”

According to original poster 1994HondaAccord, the vocalist from Mexican Coke “spent the entire show drinking in excess, treating young concert goers poorly, cussed out the audience, and continued to egg on a group of drunk punks in the audience, and then refused to start performing until he had another beer in his hand.”

After a song and a half of “mumbling” from the vocalist, the audience started throwing beer cans before “one of the drunk punks came up and started swinging on him on stage.”

“Multiple other people came to aid both sides and it ended with the vocalist having his shirt torn off,” wrote the original poster.

Redditor mywar69420 filled out more of the story, claiming that the Mexican Coke frontman was “calling audience members homos and f*gs, throwing beer cans into people’s faces. He then broke an $80 piece of microphone equipment, and then on top of that proceeded to call someone the N word. People who came up to kick his ass were the people running the venue.”

The Redditor added that they initially thought the singer was just “being edgy and doing a bit at first,” egging on the audience, but that the singer’s bandmates were as bewildered as the rest of the room.

“Talked to Fentanyl and they said he hasn’t been like that at all on tour,” wrote mywar69420. “Don’t wanna throw the rest of the band under the bus, it was just the singer who decided to throw a drunk temper tantrum.”

Anyways, the outburst in SLC was enough to get Mexican Coke booted from the tour, with a member of Fentanyl posting on X/Twitter the next day: “Mexican Coke are no longer playing this tour. Pull up for Asbestos as direct support.”
