Mochakk is turning his Mochakk Calling brand into a full-fledged two-day festival at the open-air venue Ta’ Qali in Malta.

Music festivals may be in a precarious place lately, but that hasn’t stopped artists from going all in on large-scale event concepts of their own. Last week, GRiZ shared the lineup for his brand-new gathering, Seven Stars Festival. Now, Mochakk has announced the debut of Mochakk Calling Festival, slated for July 26-27 at Ta’ Qali in Malta.

The eccentric tech house DJ and producer has previously hosted events under the Mochakk Calling brand; he even has new ones coming up in Miami, Chicago, and London through June. For the festival, he’s enlisted his fellow house and techno artists like HAAi, Dixon, Honey Dijon, Bonobo, Desiree, Chaos in the CBD, Todd Terje, Badsista, Seth Troxler, Mall Grab, and DJ Swisha to perform.

Ta’ Qali is an open-air space in the outskirts of Maltese towns Attard and Mosta that includes a football stadium as well as a convention center. The section dedicated to Mochakk Calling Festival’s footprint boasts a capacity of 5,000.

This isn’t the first time Mochakk (real name Pedro Maia) has branched out from the performances and recorded music that have vaulted him to international stardom. Last year, the “Da Fonk” hitmaker announced the grand opening of a club called OBLIQO in his hometown of Sorocaba, Brazil.

Malta has a long and successful history of hosting large-scale dance music events. Defected Records and elrow are two organizers who have brought thousands of revelers to the Mediterranean archipelago country for gatherings in recent memory.

Presale tickets to Mochakk Calling Festival are available starting Thursday, March 27 with the general on sale going live on Friday, March 28. Sign up for updates via Laylo.
