The ex-girlfriend of Nicolas Cage is suing him and their son for “life-threatening injuries” she says she suffered in an alleged fight last year.
Christina Fulton accused hers and Cage’s son Weston Cage – described in the lawsuit as a “300-pound professional fighter” – of attacking her without provocation. Per BBC, she is suing her son for assault and battery and Longlegs star Cage for negligence.
The suit seeks unspecified damages for the “catastrophic physical, emotional, and economic harm she has endured”. Weston Cage was arrested in June last year and charged with two felony counts of assault with a deadly weapon, which followed allegations he had attacked his mother and another individual.
He pleaded not guilty to both charges. Per People, Fulton said she was “brutally assaulted” following his arrest and release on bond, and that it was “imperative” Weston “receives the help he desperately needs”.

The Snake Eyes actress claimed she had visited her son in April last year after getting “urgent messages” from his friends, per a civil complaint submitted to the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
She alleges she was attacked by her son in a “manic rage” upon arriving, with the assault allegedly ensuing in the car park, lift and lobby of his residence. The suit claims the resulting injuries included a concussion, neck and throat injuries, dental trauma, tinnitus, abdominal trauma and PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder).
She went on to allege that Nicolas Cage was aware of their son’s “long history of mental and psychological disorder” but enabled his behaviour by providing financial support. It was claimed Cage bought an apartment for Weston next door to his own, has bailed him out of jail and drank alcohol with his son, despite alleged substance misuse issues.
In a statement given to the BBC, Nicolas Cage’s lawyer, Brian Wolf, said the lawsuit was “absurd”.

“Weston Coppola is a 34-year-old man,” he said. “Mr Cage does not control Weston’s behavior in any manner and is not responsible for Weston’s alleged assault of his mother.”
Weston Cage’s lawyer, Michael A Goldstein, added that Fulton’s decision to file a lawsuit against her own son was not surprising, given what he described as her past history of litigation against family members – which includes suing Cage in 2009 over a financial dispute.
“It appears to be nothing short of a money grab and call for attention,” Goldstein said. Ms Fulton correctly advised the responding LAPD officers that her son was in the midst of a mental health crisis at the time of the incident.”
Meanwhile, Fulton’s attorney Joseph Farzam told the BBC it was a “unique situation” within the family, adding: “Weston has a history of violence and his father has not stopped him, but enabled him, bailed him and made the situation much worse.”
