Oasis have paid tribute to late Liverpool star Diogo Jota at their comeback concert in Cardiff – find out more below.
Earlier tonight (July 04), Oasis made their grand return after 16 years away, playing to a sold out crowd at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Throughout the set, the band rocked through their greatest hits.
One of the most unexpected moments of the night took place during Oasis’ performance of all-timer ‘Live Forever’, when an image of Diogo Jota in his jersey appeared onscreen. The tribute came after Jota was killed in a car crash on Thursday (July 03) at just 28 years old.
His tragic death came just after his wedding less than two weeks ago. His 25-year-old brother was also killed in the crash.

It marked the second tribute of the night made in Jota’s honour at the Principality Stadium. Earlier in the night, opening act Cast paid homage with a rendition of ‘Walkaway’: “Dedicated to Diogo Jota. Take it easy brother.”
Elsewhere during Oasis’ gig, the band kicked things off with ‘Hello’, ‘Acquiesce’ and ‘Morning Glory’. Other hits included the aforementioned ‘Live Forever’, ‘Cigarettes & Alcohol’, ‘Supersonic’, ‘Half The World Away’ and more. They closed out their first gig in 16 years with a powerhouse trio of hits: ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Wonderwall’ and ‘Champagne Supernova’.
Both brothers took turns poking fun at Ticketmaster’s dynamic ticket pricing system – something they’ve publicly denied knowing anything about.
