Overmono – “Paradise Runner”

In 2023, the UK dance duo Overmono made it into our Album Of The Week column with their full-length debut Good Lies. Overmono, the team of brothers Tom and Ed Russell, haven't released another LP since then, but they've done one-off collaborations with people like Fred again.. and Ruthven. A few months ago, Overmono teamed up with Joy Orbison and Skiifall on the single "Lippy." They'll play a lot of festivals next year, and now they've got a new single of their own.

Overmono's new track "Paradise Runner" is a sleek, energized dance track built on a sample of Monifah's 1996 R&B track "All I Want." The Russell brothers surround Monifah's sped-up voice with shivery keyboard notes and skittery drums, building up to some climactic drops. The song moves, and its video is all footage of Overmono performing live. Check it out below.
