OZZY OSBOURNE Announces His Final Memoir, Last Rites

The Prince of Darkness is ready to tell his story one last time. Ozzy Osbourne has announced the release of his second and final memoir, Last Rites, due out October 7 via Grand Central Publishing.

Billed as a "fearlessly raw" and "bitterly hilarious" chronicle, Last Rites offers an unfiltered look at the rock icon's tumultuous last seven years, marked by severe health battles and personal reckonings. It also serves as a retrospective on his chaotic, legendary life – from near-death experiences to unforgettable encounters with fellow hellraisers like Slash, Bon Scott, John Bonham, and Keith Moon.

"People say to me, if you could do it all again, knowing what you know now, would you change anything?" said Ozzy of the book. "I'm, like, fuck no. If I'd been clean and sober, I wouldn't be Ozzy. If I'd done normal, sensible things, I wouldn't be Ozzy. Look, if it ends tomorrow, I can't complain. I've been all around the world. Seen a lot of things. I've done good… and I've done bad. But right now, I'm not ready to go anywhere."

The memoir will detail Ozzy's turbulent yet enduring marriage to Sharon Osbourne, the loss of friends like Motörhead's Lemmy Kilmister, and his reflections on Back To The Beginning, the historic farewell concert where he reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates one final time and helped raise millions for charity.

Last Rites follows Ozzy's bestselling 2009 autobiography I Am Ozzy, and promises to deliver even more unflinching honesty, bizarre anecdotes, and unexpected moments of wisdom. Described as "surprisingly life-affirming," the book cements Ozzy's status not only as the Godfather of Metal, but as a modern-day folk hero and enduring cultural icon.

The official cover for Last Rites has been revealed by Grand Central Publishing and is now viewable online. Pre-orders are expected to open soon here.
