‘Palworld’ is finally getting a full release in 2026

Palworld is set to finally get a full release next year with a huge update currently in the works at Pocketpair.

An early version of Palworld launched in Early Access at the start of 2024 and became an overnight sensation. According to developers Pocketpair, more than 19million people played the action-adventure survival game in its first four weeks and they had to spend £380k a month on servers to keep Palworld from crashing due to demand.

Since then, five big updates for Palworld have gone live, and now Pocketpair have promised the biggest one yet is on the way.

Sharing a video on social media, publishing manager Bucky explained that the plan was for Palworld to get a full release at some point in 2026 alongside a “truly massive” amount of new content as part of the 1.0 update.

Palworld 1.0 is coming in 2026!

We have A LOT of info to share, so please watch the video below!

Also, I was really nervous filming this because I/we never do this sort of thing so please be nice 🙂 https://t.co/c8hIbzoByu

“Thank you for your kindness and support over the last 20 months. Things are going to be a little different from here on out but don’t worry, it’s not bad news,” he started.

“Since Palworld’s release, we’ve shipped five major updates, adding new mechanics and improving the game in various ways. Now, we’ve reached a crossroads and need to decide what comes next. We’ve got a lot of ideas for where we want to take Palworld, but we also need to start thinking about Palworld 1.0. Beyond just adding new content, there’s a lot of cleanup that needs to be done before Palworld can leave Early Access.”

“It’s no secret that Palworld has a lot of quirks and jank. We want to take the time to properly address those before releasing the game. With that in mind, we plan to start that cleanup this year. We think taking the time to address those issues now will ultimately lead to a better game and our goal is to ultimately release Palworld next year, in 2026.”

It means that things will be “a little quiet” from Pocketpair for the rest of 2025 and the winter update “won’t be as big as ‘Feybreak’” but the team still has a “few surprises” planned.

I played a ton of Palword before all the updates and really enjoyed myself. But my main complaint was about how janky the movement and general gameplay felt, so I'm very *very* happy that stuff is a focus point.

I will absolutely be playing again when 1.0 drops. https://t.co/95QKMNEFNA pic.twitter.com/blZs1W2ZuP

However, there was no update on Pocketpair’s ongoing legal battle with Nintendo.

Last year, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company shared a joint statement announcing that they had filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair. The suit alleges that Palworld “infringes multiple patent rights” and Nintendo are “seeking an injunction against infringement and compensation for damages”.

Responding to the “truly unfortunate” lawsuit, Palworld creators said they were “unaware” of any infringements but were later forced to remove several features from the hit game. Despite the legal action from Nintendo, Palworld launched on PlayStation last year and a mobile version of the game is currently in development.
