The demo version of Panda Bear's "Venom In", recorded in collaboration with Cass McCombs, has received its first digital release.
"Venom's In" first appeared on Panda Bear's eighth album, Sinister Grift, released back in February. Panda Bear — the moniker of Animal Collective co-founder Noah Lennox — first wrote the track as a gift to fellow singer-songwriter Cass McCombs, but McCombs never released it as his own. McCombs' version of the song remained hidden until a special 7” pressing was released for Record Store Day in April, which featured Panda Bear's version on the A-side, and McCombs' on the B-side. Today, the demo is now available across streaming services.
