Pantera launched their headlining summer US tour on Tuesday night (July 15the) at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, where they played a handful of songs for the first time since reuniting in late 2022.

The outing, dubbed “The Heaviest Tour of the Summer” and featuring support from Amon Amarth, runs through a September 13th show in West Palm Beach, Florida, with tickets available here.

Pantera kicked off the Burgettstown gig with “Hellbound” from 2000’s Reinventing the Steel, and later played “Goddamn Electric” and “I’ll Cast a Shadow” from the same album, marking the first time they’ve performed all three of those songs since 2001.

Even rarer, the band performed the deep cut “10s” from 1996’s The Great Southern Trendkill, marking the first time they’ve ever performed that song live, including their previous existence.

The rest of the 15-song set was filled with classics like “5 Minutes Alone,” “A New Level,” “Cowboys From Hell,” “Walk,” and the set-closing “Fucking Hostile,” among others. The most represented album on the setlist with five songs was 1992’s Vulgar Display of Power, which recently landed at No. 7 on Consequence‘s list of the 75 Best Metal Albums of All Time.

Pantera’s current lineup features classic members Philip Anselmo (vocals) and Rex Brown (bass) playing alongside guitarist Zakk Wylde (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Label Society) and drummer Charlie Benante (Anthrax), who are the filling the shoes of late brothers Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, respectively. They recently played the “Back to the Beginning” concert featuring the final performances of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne.
