Actor Pedro Pascal has lambasted J.K. Rowling’s anti-trans views as “heinous loser behavior” following the Harry Potter author’s celebration of the UK Supreme Court’s ruling that transgender women should not be recognized as women under Britain’s Equality Act.

In reaction to the ruling, Rowling posted a photo of herself on X/Twitter smoking a cigar and having a drink, with the caption, “I love it when a plan comes together.”

Activist Tariq Ra’ouf condemned Rowling for her actions in an Instagram video, calling it “some serious Voldemort villain shit,” alluding to the antagonist in the Harry Potter novels. Pascal voiced his disapproval of Rowling in the comments of Ra’ouf’s Instagram post writing, “Awful disgusting SHIT is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

The actor, who stars in HBO’s The Last of Us, has a transgender sister named Lux Pascal, and has long championed trans rights. Earlier this week, he wore a “Protect the Dolls” T-shirt to the UK premiere of the Marvel movie Thunderbolts, as part of a campaign to protect transgender women from discrimination.

Rowling, meanwhile, has taken an anti-trans stance for years, constantly posting those views on her X/Twitter account. In fact, the post she has pinned to the top of her X account now shares a comment directed at the author that reads, “You are a stupid and horrible woman. My kids and I enjoyed burning your books and roasting marshmallows over your pathetic books,” to which Rowling replied, “I get the same royalties whether you read them or burn them. Enjoy your marshmallows!”

In addition to starring in the the latest season of The Last of Us, Pascal will soon be seen as Reed Richards / Mr. Fantastic in the upcoming movie Fantastic Four: The First Steps, hitting theaters July 25th.
