Pizza Hut will be connecting the kids of Millennials and Gen Xers to their parents’ nostalgia with the return of the BOOK IT! summer reading program.
BOOK IT! announced the return of the Summer of Stories program in which kids can earn free pizza from the Hut by reading books.
The BOOK IT! program was popular among kids in the 1980s and 1990s who would report what they had read to parents or teachers, had their accomplishments submitted to BOOK IT! then would get a coupon for Pizza Hut.
Sign up for the new program begins May 1st through the BOOK IT! app with progress tracking starting June 1st.
It works like this: Parents and their kids, preK to 6th grade, set monthly reading goals in the app, track progress, and, if goals are met, kids can claim a free Personal Pan Pizza.
Reading never tasted so good.
