Puscifer Preview Comic Book Series with New Song “ImpetuoUs”: Stream

Puscifer have dropped “ImpetuoUs” — the third and final preview single ahead of the February 6th release of Normal Isn’t — and simultaneously teased a new comic book series via the accompanying visualizer.

The song is a subdued and rhythmic post-punk groover that gives tons of space for Maynard James Keenan’s vocals and the backing vocals of Carina Round. Synths comprise the song’s underbelly, complimented with the occasional stab of guitar, sonically aligning with the ’80s new wave/goth direction outlined by previous singles “Self Evident” (Consequence’s Top Metal & Hard Rock Song of 2025) and “Pendulum.”

“I’m looking forward to hearing where this song takes people,” Maynard said in a press release. “As the writers, we forget that in a way, we are carpenters and that we’ve been with this song since it was a pile of lumber. Our Perspective may differ from the final occupant of this space we’ve constructed. Shelter, Bridge or Gallows, Coffin? Curious to find out.”

Fans will want to keep their YouTube tab open and watch the visualizer while they listen, as it features semi-animated comic panels from the aforementioned series “Tales from the Pusciverse” (in this clip, we get a bizarre conversation between daytime Maynard and his spiky haired Puscifer alter-ego). Additional details about the comic series, launching in tandem with Normal Isn’t, will be announced soon.

Puscifer are also supporting the album with a North American tour that kicks off March 20th in Las Vegas. Dates run through a May 14th show in Los Angeles, with stops in Dallas, Boston, New York City, Detroit, Chicago, Seattle, and San Francisco, among other cities. Get tickets here.
