Rachel Chinouriri – “Make believe”

The hugely promising UK pop artist Rachel Chinouriri just played Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields fest, and she'll release her new album I think I spoke too soon next month. We already posted lead single "One song away from crying," and now she's following it with the new single "Make believe," another portrait of romantic vulnerability.

Chinouriri co-producer "Make believe" with past collaborator apob, and the two of them co-wrote it with HYLNU, Ed Thomas, and Mary Weitz. It's got a big, blocky '80s-sytle synth sound, and the lyrics find Chinouriri's narrator hooking up with an ex and questioning her decisions: "Am I bangin' a loser? Am I an easy maneuver? Is it too late for the future?" Check it out below.
