Radiohead have unearthed a rare, previously unseen acoustic performance by Thom Yorke to celebrate the 30th anniversary of The Bends. Watch the full concert below.
Recorded on March 28th, 1995, the gig featured Yorke performing a five-song set as the opening act for Nu Music Night at the Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto.
During that evening, he played unplugged renditions of The Bends cuts “(Nice Dream),” “High and Dry,” “Street Spirit (Fade Out),” and “Fake Plastic Trees” before closing out with “Thinking About You” from Pablo Honey.
“We found this VHS tape of Thom performing at the Horseshoe Tavern, Toronto in 1995 for the release of The Bends,” the band wrote in a social media post.
Earlier this week, Yorke announced he was teaming up with Mark Pritchard for a new collaborative album, Tall Tales, out May 9th via Warp Records. Meanwhile, Radiohead appear to be working on something new, having recently filed a new LLP.
