On the Prime Video series Reacher, the absolutely yoked Alan Ritchson plays a former US Army military police officer who metes out justice with his fists. On Sunday, March 22nd, a neighbor in a Nashville suburb learned the hard way that the actor is just as heavy-handed in real life after a dispute over a loud motorbike turned physical.
In footage obtained by TMZ, Ritchson can be seen punching the alleged victim, Ronnie Taylor, multiple times in the face and head with two kids (reported to be his children) looking on. While Taylor continues to argue, Ritchson walks back to his green Kawasaki bike and eventually rides off.
Taylor told TMZ that the friction between the two began on Saturday, when Ritchson rode his bike through the neighborhood at “excessive speed, revving his engine and disturbing the peace.” Taylor admitted to giving Ritchson the middle finger, with the actor responding in kind.
He continued by explaining that Ritchson returned on Sunday, allegedly speeding once again while joined by “two youngsters” on their own motorbikes. Then, Taylor made the mistake of telling Ritchson to “fucking stop this, please,” which apparently provoked the actor to get physical.
Ritchson allegedly punched Taylor in the face and kicked him before trying to run him over with his bike. He is accused of hitting Taylor in the back of the head and “at least four times” on the ground in the ensuing scuffle.
However, sources close to Ritchson insisted to TMZ that Taylor “initiated and instigated” the entire incident. According to another source, witnesses saw Taylor attempting to stop Ritchson’s bike in a “really aggressive” manner, causing him to crash and suffer cuts and bruises.
Taylor then allegedly dared Ritchson to hit him, with the actor purportedly trying to ignore the bait and attempting to leave on his bike before being shoved to the ground again. Only then did Ritchson respond with his fists.
TMZ reports that Ritchson is cooperating with a police investigation into the incident.
