Rebirth 20 honors two decades of sonic innovation, visual artistry, and artistic evolution with an impressive roster of talent, including Glenn Underground, Crumby, Terrence Parker, and more.
Launched in Italy in 2006 by Daniele ‘Shield’ Contrini, Rebirth Records evolved from a passion project into a premier house music institution. Over the last twenty years, it has become a cornerstone house music label — a hub of quality and creative freedom for visionary artists. Dedicated to timeless electronic music, the label marks its milestone anniversary with Rebirth 20. This special release celebrates two decades of innovation by unearthing rare gems, overlooked tracks, and brand-new remixes.
To celebrate the milestone, a limited-edition double vinyl landed on May 15, with a special preview debuting earlier in the year on Record Store Day. A two-part digital series will come out this summer, with Part 1 dropping on June 5, which expands on the physical release with unpublished tracks and exclusive new remixes of the label’s most iconic anthems.
Arriving a decade after Larry Heard’s (aka Mr. Fingers) revered compilation, this project honors the ongoing legacy of Rebirth Records. The album bridges generations, featuring a stellar lineup of established legends and rising stars, including Alva Noto, Glenn Underground, Makèz, Luciano & Michel Cleis, Crumby, and Terrence Parker.
The compilation includes fresh remixes of label classics. RSS Disco delivers a sun-toasted spin on Emanuel Satie and Billy Cobham’s “Don’t Forget to Go Home,” while Cengiz reimagines Piero Pirupa and Bajka’s “Trust.” Additionally, the digital release first installment features Silicon Soul’s Hypnohouse Dub of And If’s “Beyond Senses” and Elado’s remix of Mata Jones & Mikey V’s “Funky,” to give you a taste of the extra material included.
For two decades, Rebirth has united music, art, and emotion. The label continues to innovate while staying true to its core identity. Rebirth 20 is a nostalgic, retrospective album that condenses the last two decades into a compilation worthy of the Rebirth name and label home.
Part one drops June 5, and pre-orders are open on the Rebirth Records Bandcamp page. Part two will drop in July, so follow Rebirth Records’ social media to keep up with the next installment.
