Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame 2026 Inductees Include Oasis, Iron Maiden, Phil Collins, & Joy Division/New Order

We have a new set of acts heading into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Hall Of Famer Lionel Richie and Ryan Seacrest made the announcement during tonight's HOF-themed American Idol episode. The 2026 class of Hall Of Fame inductees includes eight acts — or nine, depending on how you're counting: Oasis, Iron Maiden, Phil Collins, the Wu-Tang Clan, Sade, Luther Vandross, Billy Idol, and the combination of Joy Division and New Order.

The Hall Of Fame unveiled this year's nominations back in February. The acts who didn't make the cut are Jeff Buckley, Lauryn Hill, New Edition, INXS, the Black Crowes, Melissa Etheridge, Pink, Shakira, and seemingly permanent bridesmaid Mariah Carey.

Phil Collins was already in the Hall Of Fame as a member of Genesis. By being inducted as a solo artist, Collins now joins the list of two-time inductees. He's been inducted on his first nomination, as have the Wu-Tang Clan and the late Luther Vandross. It's the third nomination for Oasis, Iron Maiden, and Joy Division/New Order, and it's the second for Sade and Billy Idol.

Whenever the Hall Of Fame announces its inductees, the obvious question becomes: Who's going to show up? After Oasis' 2024 nomination, Liam Gallagher tweeted, "Fuck the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS." In 2023, Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson said that he didn't want to be inducted and dismissed the Hall Of Fame as "an utter and complete load of bollocks." Will either of them feel differently now that they're getting in? We'll find out!

Billy Idol, perhaps the most surprising of this year's inductees, has seemingly been campaigning for induction for a few years, so it's a good bet that he'll be there. The Wu-Tang Clan are doing a (somewhat chaotic) farewell tour, and I bet they'll be there, too — or some of them, anyway. Luther Vandross and Ian Curtis are obviously no longer with us. Peter Hook, longtime bassist of Joy Division and New Order, has been feuding with his ex-bandmate Bernard Sumner for many years, and it seems unlikely that they'll patch things up to reunite at the induction, but who knows? Sade haven't performed live since 2011, and it would be cool to see them up there.

There are other inductees in different categories, too. The recipients of the Early Influence Award are rap greats MC Lyte and Queen Latifah, salsa queen Celia Cruz, Afrobeat giant Fela Kuti, and country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons. The Musical Excellence Award is going to producers Rick Rubin, Arif Mardin, and Jimmy Miller and to Philly soul songwriter Linda Creed. The Ahmet Ertegun Award, which goes to behind-the-scenes figures, is going to the late Ed Sullivan.

This year's Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony goes down 11/14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. The TV version will air on ABC and stream on Disney+ in December. Also, the Hall Of Fame says that the Induction Ceremony is coming back to Cleveland in 2027.
