Roddy Lima Returns to Experts Only with Highly Anticipated EP, ‘Night Time’

Roddy Lima serves up a heavy dose of tech house with his latest songs, “Night Time” and “Shadows.”

Since his Club Space debut in May, Brazilian DJ and producer Roddy Lima has had house heads clamoring for his unreleased tracks. Having teased listeners for months with the assistance of John Summit and Max Styler, Lima has officially released two of the largest heaters in his arsenal by way of his new EP, Night Time.

The title track is a minimal tech house dancefloor weapon. High-octane, stabbing synths drive the song’s energy, coupled with a simple and catchy hook that instantly draws listeners in. Two distinct and escalating drops build tension, culminating in a third, resonant finale injecting the groover with a dose of unexpected spice.

Night Time captures everything I love about minimal tech house — stripped back, deep, and raw.

Accompanying the song is the ominous and intriguing “Shadows,” which casts a dark silhouette thanks to mystifying vocals. Thumping kick drums and isolated percussion build tension, pushing the track forward. The hypnotic tech house banger peters out before rising into a crescendo erupting in a final, pulsing drop.

Riding the high of his anticipated release, Lima is set to embark on a US tour beginning in August. The Night Time Tour will kick off in Denver, Colorado on August 15 with an epic performance in The Basement at Club Vinyl.

Along with his upcoming tour, Lima will join Experts Only label boss John Summit at his groundbreaking New York City music festival. Bringing high-caliber dance music back to Randall’s Island, the Experts Only Festival will invade NYC September 20-21.
