Edgar Wright has released the trailer for The Running Man, his new film adaptation of Stephen King’s 1982 dystopian novel of the same name. Watch the trailer below.
Glen Powell stars as Ben Richards, a contestant on the titular reality competition who must outrun hitmen to win a cash prize. Colman Domingo plays the host of The Running Man, with the cast rounded out by Katy O’Brian, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, William H. Macy, Sean Hayes, and more. Wright directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Michael Bacall.
King’s novel The Running Man was published in 1982 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, and took place in the year 2025. In 1987, it was adapted into a film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Wright’s last movie was 2021’s Last Night in Soho, which starred Anya Taylor-Joy. In 2023, he served as an executive producer on Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, an anime adaptation of the original Scott Pilgrim comic series by Bryan Lee O’Malley.
The Running Man hits theaters on November 7th.
