Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool crashes San Diego Comic-Con to angle for role in ‘Avengers: Doomsday’

Ryan Reynolds made a surprise appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, showing up in his full Deadpool costume to vie for a job. The actor has portrayed the iconic character across several successful films, most recently in 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine, and is reportedly set to reprise the character in Avengers: Doomsday later this year. The latter is due out in cinemas later this year after having its release date pushed back, and will see the Marvel returns of Robert Downey Jr. (this time playing Doctor Doom), Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd and Letitia Wright. While members of star studded cast were onstage this Saturday (July 25), Reynolds surprised fans when he appeared in the crowd dressed in Deadpool’s grey suit – one that as yet has not been seen on the big screen, but features in the X-Force comics. Reynolds’ Deadpool did his best to angle for a job, joking that his name was Ricky and that he was “cosplaying hard”.
