Sebadoh Share Drone Music Video 11 Years In The Making

Sebadoh have a new music video out today, more than a decade in the making. The clip for "Love You Here," from 2013's Defend Yourself, is directed by Ricardo Spencer and André Peniche. I'll let Lou Barlow explain how it came together, as excerpted from the YouTube caption:

In 2014 Sebadoh toured in Brazil: 7 concerts plus a secret one in São Paulo, at Casa do Mancha with Single Parents. I played a solo show at the end too.
On the few day-offs we had, we recorded a music video for "Love You Here" (from the Defend Yourself L.P.) on the last floor (30th!) of the iconic Copan Building, in the heart of São Paulo. We had only a few hours to do it and the directors were trying something new with a drone. In 2014, a drone couldn't fly more than 2 minutes without the battery running out.

The video was directed by André Peniche and Ricardo Spencer and, for a number of reasons, including lack of material (maybe for the lack of time we had), the video was dormant and eventually lost over time.

In 2022, I met with Peniche in Helsinki, Finland during a Dinosaur Jr. tour and, in the conversation, we talked about the video. Andre went after Spencer in order to retrieve the maximum amount of footage they could and in early 2025, they got it all!

The next challenge was to make it work, since there was such a short amount of footage available. One way or another, they made it finally happen and now, it is finally upon us. Cheggitout!!

It's cool to see shelved projects come to fruition. Check out the video below.
