Shudder to Think are back with their first new EP in nearly 30 years. The post-hardcore vets will release the three-song EP Who Sent You? on September 11th via Dischord Records, and have shared its title track ahead of the release. “Who Sent You?” reaches back to Craig Wedren’s teenage years in Cleveland before he relocated to Washington, D.C., with the singer describing the song as a reflection on being “young, horny, bored” in the 1980s. “It’s both a collage of memories, refracted through the prism of time, and a message back to my younger self,” Wedren said. “Above all, it’s a nocturnal THANK YOU to all of the girls, family, friends, music, and invisible hands that lit the path, angels and devils both. Who, indeed, sent you?” Sonically, “Who Sent You?” taps right back into the knotty, unpredictable sound Shudder to Think helped pioneer, proving that nearly three decades away hasn’t dulled their instincts or skill.
