Skeith’s Expansive Album ‘SOAR’ is a Breath of Fresh Air

8 hours ago 4

Skeith returns to Tabula Rasa Records with SOAR, a 12-track album that harkens back to the blog house era, featuring a sonic palette of house, techno, breakbeat, and more.

The current era of the scene is littered with releases churned out for marketing’s sake, yet that doesn’t mean all is lost. There’s an underbelly of artists who are still pushing boundaries and showcasing their creativity in the studio, providing diamonds in the rough that stand tall in the sea of nothingness. Canadian producer Skeith is one of those artists.

Skeith has a limited presence on social media, with an Instagram account that’s currently devoid of posts and some activity on X, but not much else. While this might break the scene’s norm in 2026, it doesn’t mean he hasn’t seen success along the way. From the VRChat club scene to showcasing his sounds on Tabula Rasa Records, the Toronto-based artist has flourished in his own way while putting his music front and center.

The deep passion that Skeith has for various electronic styles oozes throughout the soundscapes he creates—and he’s dropped off another helping of dynamic tunes on his latest album SOAR. The album itself harkens back to the blog house era, drawing on influences from house, techno, breakbeat, complextro, and more. It’s filled with fantasy-fueled motifs and twinges of nostalgia that transport you straight into what feels like a video game. This begs the question of whether you’ll press start to begin your journey, and our recommendation is that you do if you want a breath of fresh air in this overly saturated scene.

If you do smash that start button, you’ll quickly be welcomed by the warm ambiance of “Below,” a track that sets the tone with its chilled-out atmosphere. Some bouncy energy, vocal chops, and layered textures arrive on “Talk To Me,” one of the album’s few collaborations that bring Gaszia into the mix. There’s no doubt that you’ll have a smile on your face when this one graces your ears.

Tracks like “No Way” and “On My Own,” which further explore the theme of rising from darkness into light, offer moody soundscapes that lurch forward. The former is a slowburner that features distorted vocals, while the latter pumps with just a bit more energy yet offers an almost eerie aura. For a more mellow, lighthearted experience, there are flourishes of deep house grooves on “What I Want,” soaring trancey vocals over breaks on “Fear,” and “Take Me Away,” with its layers of guitar and percussion, all of which are captivating.

Where SOAR truly shines is in some of the album’s other impactful tracks. “Better” is an absolute gem, with its vocal chops, punchy breaks, and driving bassline making it no wonder why Skeith chose it as the album’s lead single. The album’s title track is a burst of pure rave-ready energy, while “Check,” his track with RamonPang, showcases a touch of jungle you could imagine getting played during Toonami in the early 2000s. And, for a final dose before you go, “…isn’t that enough,” comes in as the finisher with its own flurry of breakbeats that will leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside.

Give SOAR a listen on Spotify or your preferred platform, and follow Skeith’s social media channels to stay in the know on his upcoming releases.
