Soccer Mommy (the project of Sophie Allison) has announced Evergreen (stripped), a new EP reimagining of her 2024 album, Evergreen, due out on June 6th via Loma Vista. In anticipation, the artist has shared a new song, “She Is (stripped),” and revealed she is extending her ongoing world tour with a second US leg taking place this September.
Evergreen (stripped) features five reworked versions of songs from Allison’s fourth album, including the previously released “Driver (stripped),” which she debuted on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
While the original version of “She Is” didn’t make Evergreen’s final tracklist, Allison revealed in a press release that it holds a special place in her heart: “This song didn’t make the cut for Evergreen but it was always really special to me. I think the stripped version does it justice while staying close to the demo.”
An acoustic track describing someone (perhaps Allison herself) as a grounding force who can also cause pain, “She Is” features lyrics like, “[She is] the one I think of when I’m losing faith/ The one who leads me back this way.”
Soccer Mommy is currently on tour across the globe through the end of the year (get tickets here). She will return to the States in September for a new run of shows across the Midwest and East Coast. Tickets for these new fall dates go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 9th at 10:00 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster and her official website.
The original Evergreen was released in 2024 via Loma Vista. Her last EP, a covers collection titled Karaoke Night, was released in 2023 and included a rendition of Sheryl Crow’s “Soak Up the Sun.”
