The wait is almost over: South Park’s Season 27 will premiere on July 9th on Comedy Central. And by the looks of the first trailer, creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone aren’t pulling any punches — though, it’s not like they ever have.
In the cheekily dramatic preview, the South Park crew seem to be entangled in various topical, touchy situations. There’s Ketamine use, Diddy in space, planes colliding mid-air, and a war with Canada. Watch the full trailer for South Park Season 27 below.
Last year, Parker and Stone revealed that the gap between seasons was to allow for “Paramount to figure all their shit out.” They also hinted that they intentionally skipped the U.S. Presidential Election cycle, saying that “it kind of takes over everything and we just have less fun.”
South Park Season 26 wrapped up in early 2023. Since then, they’ve dropped three Paramount+ specials: South Park: Joining the Panderverse, South Park (Not Suitable for Children), and South Park: The End of Obesity. Additionally, Parker and Stone recently dropped 4K Ultra HD re-releases of South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (order here) and Team America: World Police (order here). They are also reportedly developing a movie with Kendrick Lamar, though few details about the project are currently known.
