South Park Trolls Department of Homeland of Security for Using Image of Show to Promote Ice

The ongoing saga between South Park and the Trump Administration has taken an unexpected twist.

On Tuesday, the official Twitter/X account of the United States Department of Homeland Security shared a still from a South Park trailer to promote ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), sending people to the website to apply for jobs within the department. The still is from the trailer for the second episode of the show’s current season, which is set to air this Wednesday, August 6th.

The makers of South Park were quick to respond to the post, sharing a tweet firing back at the DHS: “Wait, so we ARE relevant? #eatabagofdicks.” See the posts below.

The tweet is also a response to a recent White House statement following the record-breaking July 27th season premiere of the show, which took direct aim at Donald Trump. The episode depicted Trump as Satan’s boyfriend and for having “tweeny weeny” genitals. Matt Stone and Trey Parker later apologized for the skewering.

“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” read the White House statement. “President Trump has delivered on more promises in just six months than any other president in our country’s history – and no fourth-rate show can derail President Trump’s hot streak.”

South Park returned for Season 27 after a new blockbuster $1.5 billion deal with Paramount.
