Swervedriver add Bleary Eyed & a reformed Love Battery to ‘Raise’ tour

The first leg of Swervedriver's North American, BrooklynVegan-presented tour celebarting 35 years of their debut album Raise begins this month, and as previously discussed, newer band Slow Fiction is opening all of those dates, with old friends The Still Out (at the 2 NYC-area shows) and midwest shoegaze vets The Life and Times (Chicago) reforming for select dates. Openers for the 2nd leg, happening later in the year on the west coast, are also now announced. Philly shoegazers Bleary Eyed open the four California shows, while Seattle veterans Love Battery (!) join Swervedriver for the Portland and Seattle dates. Love Battery being active again is exciting news. The official bio they just sent us reads: Love Battery formed in 1989 in Seattle and was part of the grunge explosion, but just like The Screaming Trees, they had a psychedelic twist. Sub Pop Records signed them and released 3 full length albums, 4 singles and one EP. In 1994 the band moved over to Atlas Records, a subsidiary of A&M Records to release one EP and one full length album. The label also released a single. The band was on the move again landing on Seattle’s CZ Records to release one full length album as well ...
