SZA joined Elmo, Abby Cadabby, and Gabrielle on the latest episode of Sesame Street, during which the R&B star taught her new friends a timely lesson about kindness and gratitude. Watch the clip below.
Before breaking out into song, SZA shows Elmo and company her gratitude jar, which she described as “a place where you can put words or pictures of things you’re grateful for.”
“Sometimes when you feel sad or have other really big feelings, it can be easy to forget the things that we’re thankful for,” she continued. “The jar helps us remember.”
To reinforce her point, SZA performed a song titled “Be Kind to Me, Be Kind to You,” which features lyrics like, “Be kind to me, be kind to you/ Being kind is how I show my gratitude/ Kindness can change the way you feel/ Gratitude’s the right attitude.”
Season 55 of Sesame Street has also featured guests like Noah Kahan and Reneé Rapp, with Chris Stapleton scheduled to appear in July. For now, new episodes are available on HBO and Max, but the show’s contract with Warner Bros. Discovery is set to expire at the end of this season.
