Speaking about the single, TaliaBle says: "Soundboi is my tribute to the girls and gays who keep the rave alive. It’s about my friend who shuts down every party, the one cruising through the city with a pocket full of bass and breaks. I flipped the word soundboy on purpose, spelt it with an i, because the boi im talking about isn’t like the rest. She’s carving her own lane and making sure the decks aren’t just for the lads anymore. This tracks for the ones flipping the script, rewriting the rules of sound and space - that’s a Soundboii to me."
"This was the first track I made with Joe Goddard and I loved how dynamic the process felt. The track kept me on my toes, which I always look for when making music. It means we can go anywhere and get a bit surreal. Joe created a space that felt open and experimental, so I pushed a few different flows on the track and in the end they all stuck," she continues.
Joe Goddard also shares his inspiration for the track: “My inspiration for the rhythm of ‘Soundboi’ was the broken beat classic ‘Loose Lips Sink Ships’ by the amazing producer Seiji from Bugz in the Attic - I love the energy on that record and I wanted to make something with Talia that had that feel.”
