Terrifier 3 is currently outselling Joker: Folie à Deux at the US box office and now a video game based on the horror franchise has been announced.
Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is due for release at some point in 2025 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5. The game will see players take on the role of Terrifier’s slash-happy killer. “Become Art The Clown, the sinister and unpredictable villain from the Terrifier series, as you unleash chaos across a variety of locations. Each stage is a movie set where a film about Art is being produced, but you’re here to disrupt the show,” reads the official description.
Promising a whole lot of “pixelated carnage”, Terrifier: The ARTcade Game is described as a “gory retro fighting beat ’em up packed with intense action, dark humor, and tons of fun,” and has been inspired by the classic beat ’em up games of the ‘80s and ‘90s.

“The game looks amazing but that intro makes me want a Terrifier anime film,” wrote one fan while another said, “it’s really cool that Art the Clown has reached mainstream horror”. Other fans are comparing it to Ubisoft’s 2010 Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World: The Game.
The first Terrifier film was released in 2016, and has since spawned two slasher sequels that also follow the exploits of serial killer Art The Clown. A fourth film is being planned, and Art recently starred in a Call Of Duty halloween expansion.
Speaking to NME about the success of the Terrifier series, Art The Clown actor David Howard Thornton said: “Art has a little wink and nudge at the audience after every kill. I think that’s what helps us get away with what we do. There’s always a little joke behind all the kills.”
In other news, experimental folk rock artist Yasmin Williams has said she only learnt the guitar after playing Guitar Hero and beating the game on Expert mode.
