The Afghan Whigs cover Poliça and Still Corners on new 7″ (listen)

The Afghan Whigs are back with a new 7″ that features two covers: Poliça‘s “Fake Like” and Still Corners‘ “Downtown.” It’s their first new release in three years. Greg Dulli says, “Both of these songs were born out of soundcheck jams. Each song holds a particular resonance for me and I really felt the lyrics, so they both flowed freely and felt good to sing.”

Both songs get radical remakes from the originals, or maybe not-so-radical as Dulli and crew turn them into Afghan Whigs songs. Check them both out below.

The 7″ is available for preorder and will be out in early 2026 on the band’s own Shake It Records.

2026 is also the 40th anniversary of The Afghan Whigs and “many plans are in the works for the band already and will be announced in the new year,” they say.
